About the project

Zombie Sniper

This task was my end of unit task for my scratch unit during early year 9. We were asked to create a game using all the skills we had learnt in lesson. My final game was a simple indie-style shooter game called zombie sniper.

The sprites

Scratch cat and the zombies

The sprites in my project were; scratch cat, the zombies and the crosshair. I was able to make the zombies move while on screen. To do this, I had multiple variations of the zombies and made them switch costume extremely quickly to give the impression that they are walking. This worked a lot better than I thought it made the game a lot more visually pleasing.

The crosshair, time and scoreboard

Crosshair, score and time

The script for the crosshair is shown on the left, it is directly linked to the scoreboard. In the centre of the crosshair is a red dot, if the red dot goes over a zombie it counts as a kill. The scoreboard shows how many kills you have. If you get over 150 kills, scratch cat appears and says "You saved Scratch.com!!!", if you don't, scratch cat says "its too late, you tried your best"
